Lying For A Living

I am just trying To think of how many people lie for a living. Politicians come to mind. Especially the partisan ones. Yes that would describe most of them. Next would be actors, this may be a bit controversial. For they are pretending to be something that they are not. They are rehearsing lines, intending to deceive us into believing that they are someone else. Since I have begun writing I have become painfully aware that the media lies to us. Then comes the scientists. One comes to mind, one with five doctorates. The smart person said we were going to run out of fuel decades ago. Was that purposeful, to keep the price of fuel up? There are so many liars that the truth may be hard to distinguish.

Jeffery Epstein comes to mind. I had thought he was an inconsequential twit. Then he died. I then learned he was so much more. Jeffery was a truth that I had assumed was a lie. Peak oil was a lie that I had assumed was a truth. How many lies are truths, and how many truths are lies? Hard to know. That is why I write. It will take some hard core sleuthing to discern the truth. When I see what I think is a lie I will write about it. Makes me think twice about my thoughts. Most people don’t do that.

Do I lie at work? I do not try to be something I am not. I do choose my words carefully. I won’t say things that I do not believe in. It is hard as I work in a woke culture. A culture that I believe is biased on lies. Yet they pay me, and I try to go forth and serve to the best of my ability. They seem to be happy with my performance.

I have to be careful though with my definitions of Observational Science and Sustainability. I could get into a lot of trouble if I were to stray from the approved definition. Sometimes I slightly modify the definition to something that I can believe in. Yet I do so at my own risk. I much prefer the teaching of hands on skills, and the scientific method. They are things I truly believe in.

The Frontline Comes To Town

I basically just want to be done with politics. Most everything that is political on TV is a lie. I abhor people that talk politics. I especially abhor liberals, as I feel they have betrayed me. I pretty much consider my self a walk away when it comes to politics. I won’t even discuss politics, unless heavily prompted too. Way to dangerous for me.

Recently the Vice President met with the Chairman of my small town board. Promised us high speed internet with good paying union jobs. It was a bit of a surprise that the Vice President of the United States would come to such a small town, or at least the union shop that serves this small town. She did not come to the actual town. She just did a photo shoot with spoils of cable.

I know the selectman, he is a union guy, and he has been in my house. Good for him for bringing high speed internet to town. Although, some point out that the program for bringing high speed internet to this town started with President Trump. Maybe I will not order Starlink like I thought I would.

When I look out my living room window I see a wind farm. I can also see the house of the person who owns the land that the wind farm is on. Like myself he is not happy about town politics. Like the town chairman he has been in my house. Like myself he has not involved himself in town politics. When the wind farm went in we thought taxes would go down. Instead they went up, a lot. Why?

I just figured that I live in a corrupt little town, and there was not a lot I could do about it. I just did not want to be involved. I also knew that the town was suing the wind farm over a padlock on a gate. Something about four wheelers.

Suddenly signs for a new person running for selectman started showing up around town. Really? Someone thinks they are going to run against the guy that is bringing us high speed internet. We are quite a conservative town, even if we did elect Democrat selectmen. Then the man that has the wind farm says he is going to host an informational meeting in his barn about the upcoming election.

Of course I would not give up a chance to visit the wind farm, it is a lovely place. The woman running for selectman was going to speak. The woman turned out to be the daughter of a local man that I had known for many years. If I remember correctly she once sang in Nashville. Her parents were so proud of her. The man with the wind farm had stayed out of politics, till the town sued him. With a thirty thousand dollar legal bill, he was supporting an alternative.

The lady running for selectman pointed out that the town should not be suing on behalf of club. Even if the town salesman is also president of the club. Sounded reasonable. The she said that the town spent seventy two thousand dollars to run the election, this is when a nearby town with three times the population spent only eighteen thousand dollars. Another town with like population spent only a thousand dollars. We use paper ballots. A couple of people spoke up and said they work the election for $125. They also said the town lawyer, whom I also know, gets two thousand dollars for working the election.

There were a few other stories asking where the money is going. Then the lunch line. The wind farm has paid more than nine million dollars to the town. How has the town benefited from that money? Seems the only benefit has been higher taxes. I thought these were very good points, however I wondered if these points would be enough to topple the promise of union jobs and high speed internet. Then the audience started to comment. A number of people in town had solar farms. Turns out they were being taxed at $600 a panel. My next door neighbor has seventy two panels. He was very upset. There were others also. Green energy was being elegantly taxed in this town endorsed by the Vice President. Even the lady running for select man was surprised.

I was shocked. The greenies had aligned with the conservatives. Then the stories came out on how the town was being run in secret. Even the date of the town meeting was changed. The only town to do so. So much was now coming to light. I began wondered how corrupt my little town actually was. It was possible that millions were disappearing.

Then the incumbent struck back. His signs started appearing in people’s yards. Then there were the testimonials on Facebook on what a fine person the incumbent is. No need for an unproven upstart. I am not using peoples names because I do not want anyone local finding out what I think. I know all involved. I do not want to vote, for I fear retribution. Sad state of affairs. Then there were allegations of signs disappearing, I remember those times. If there are millions at stake things will get dirty. It.is very possible that people I know should.go to jail. However they won’t. They will get away with it. That is just my thought. The deep state is very deep.

As much as I wanted to stay away from the political front lines, I failed. The front lines are now in my front yard. Yet, I will not put up a sign. If you were to drive around you would think that the candidates had matching support. A somewhat equal amount of signs. To talk with people there is an overwhelming support for one candidate. I suspect that when the votes are tallied, the other candidate will win.

Life in my little town.

Gain of Function

Did Dr. Fauci and the NIH find “Gain of Function” research at the Wuhan lab. I saw a very interesting video about capturing hate to study their viruses in the Wuhan China lab.

At the time President Trump allowed Dr. Fauci to present his opinions without bias. I read that Dr. Fauci was the highest paid person in our government. Not sure if that is true or not. Not even sure if our government is funding the Wuhan lab. All I know is The allegation has not been denied. Yet the whole thing seems plausible

Not that it matters, if the government wants to do us in, they will do us in. Really, is there a difference between the extermination of unwanted fetuses and unproductive old people? Neither adds a benefit to society.

This is one of those posts I started a while ago. When I was writing it, I thought I had pretty much gone right off the rails. Sort of told myself – just put the pen down before I get myself into trouble. I had pretty much forgotten the troubling thought, till the big push on “Stop Asian Hate”. Allegedly a good portion of us Nethanderal republicans hate Asians because they gave us the Wuhan flue, aka COVID 19.

Yet my few Nethanderal gray cells do not process the given information as they suggest. Sure my neurons rapidly made some connections. There probably is little doubt that COVID came from Asia, yet there is good evidence that we paid them to develop this troubling disease. Can’t blame the Asians for delivering on what we ordered.

Union Rules

I could have joined the union. Interestingly nobody asked me to join. I was quite surprised about that. I did ask two people about joining. The first person was a conservative Trump supporter. A very rare political point of view in academia. He replied that the only thing you get it you join the union was legal representation in case of a dispute.

I had been a union member before. I had worked in a metal shop a long time ago. We made cost racks and hat racks. Every Friday Vinny and Guido would show up in their fancy suits and shiny Buick and collect their union dues. The said if I were to join the union I would get a nice raise. I became a Teamster. After paying my union dues I made a nickel less an hour. Every week Vinny and Guido would ask me if I had a problem. I would say no. They would then say If I had a problem, just let them know. Or ask the union steward. I would then say OK.

I did not mind the loss of the nickel. This was back in the Hoffa days. I would go home and turn on the TV. There was a lot of Teamster and Union news. Thought I was getting my money worth just in entertainment.

One Monday the boss man came in very drunk. He came up to my machine just swearing away. I was rather astonished. First a little background. The boss man would keep all the tooling in a safe in the office. If I were to break a tool I would have to go to the office and get a tool. He would then go into the safe to get a new tool, I would then get a lecture on the cost of the tool. I knew the cost of almost every tool in the shop. So back to the drunk boss. He came up.and grabbed a sixth dollar tool from the machine and took it to the chopsaw and chopped it in half. Swearing the whole time. I was bewildered and perplexed. I went and asked the union steward what I should do next. He looked very nervous and was sweating profusely, all he said was to keep on working. I asked how, as the boss had cut my tool in two. I did not get an answer that I could understand, so I punched out and left. The next day I got a job washing cars. A couple of days later I drive by. They were carrying signs in a picket line. I figured I was happier washing cars than carrying picket signs.

As the years went by I wondered what would of happened if I carried the picket signs. Would the union have gotten me a better job? Maybe I could have gotten one of the cushy underworked overpaid union jobs. I could have easily been retired by now with a fat pension. Such things have happened. Just one of those what if’s. So I might not be anti union if it were to work for me.

The second person I asked about joining the union where I work now was a Trump hating liberal. He informed me the the union provided legal representation was shit. Very unsatisfied. So I did not join.

Personally I do not see much difference between unions and the mob. We have all heard about non productive union rules. RUles.that just enhance union members, and not much else. So the unions have won. They are now getting to write the rules. They will do so to benefit themselves. You going to tell Vinny and Guido you have a problem?

What it really comes down to, the big guy has to get his cut.
